M is for Monkey Activity List

Talk about the sounds that the letter “M” makes.

See if your child can find the M on the cover of each of the Monkey Books you read.

See if your child can think of any other words that start with the “M” sound:  mom, map, moon, more, mouse, moose, etc.

Draw “M” bubble letters and have your child put stickers in the open space. This is good for fine motor skills as well.

Download this FREE letter of the week coloring sheet. You can use this for dot-a-dot, coloring, or stickering. Alphabet Coloring Sheets (variety pack) PDF

Play Monkey See, Monkey Do: Say the rhyme below while children copy the actions.

Monkey see
Monkey do
Little monkey in a zoo
Monkey monkey in a tree
Can you scratch your head with me?

Climb a tree
Jump around
Scratch your itch
Pat your head
Peel a banana

After you do the Monkey see, Monkey do activity, talk about the importance of example. Parents are an example to children, and older siblings are an example to younger siblings. Here are some Bible verses to get your conversation started:

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. – John 13: 14-17

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 11:1 (The Apostle Paul speaking to the church at Corinth)

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12

Do the Let’s Go Bananas cheer while dancing and acting out the parts!

Play Monkey Around, a cute, collaborative game by Peaceable Kingdom. Our girls received it for their birthdays. I love that they can play it together despite the three year age difference.
