R is for Rabbit: Book & Activity List

Welcome to our R is for Rabbit Book List and Activity List!

After a long hiatus, I am finishing up our A-Z Preschool Letter of the Week book list. We made this list as the girls and I read through the alphabet in our Homeschool Preschool. It was a fun way to get to know new books and new authors!

Below you will find…

  • A list of our favorite R is for Rabbit books
  • A list of *simple* preschool/kindergarten activities you can try at home
  • A couple ideas for Biblical Integration

Literacy

Talk about the sound the letter “R” makes.

Think of other words that start with the “R” run, ranch, ribbit, rose, ram, rain, rainbow, raspberry, rhino, raccoon, rake, rat, rocket, robot

See if your child can find a “R” on the cover and inside each of the books you read.

Look for the letter “R” on signs around town.

Read a Poem: A Rabbit by Mary Ann Hoberman.

A rabbit
bit
A little bit
An itty-bitty
Little bit of beet.
Then bit
By bit
He bit
Because he liked the taste of it.
But when he bit
A wee bit more,
It was more bitter than before.
“This beet is bitter!”
Rabbit cried.
“I feel a bit unwell inside!”
But when he bit
Another bite, that bit of beet
Seemed quite all right.
Besides
When all is said and done,
Better bitter beet
Than none.

Ideas for Biblical Integration

Talk about how God has given Rabbits HUGE ears. Why do you think they have such big ears? Rabbits are prey for other animals: hawks, owls, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, and others. Their big ears are alert and listening for danger. The can even turn their ears in different directions to hear all around them.

In the same way, we should have our ears alert and attentive to God’s word, listening, learning, memorizing, and obeying. We must be alert and attentive to His voice. His ways and commands are good and keep us from danger!

I pray this list of books is encouraging to you! And I pray that we might be alert and attentive, keeping watch and praying and ready for King Jesus when He returns!

In Christ Alone,
Trish
