Literacy
Talk about the sound that the letter “X” makes.
Think of other words that end with the “X” sound: wax, box, six, ox, ax, mix, fix.
See if your child can find the “X” on the cover of each of the Fox Books you read.
We love the Leap Frog Letter Factory Movie for learning the letter sounds!

Math & Science
Foxes are quadrupeds, they have 4 feet. Bipeds have two feet. Make a list of animals that have 4 feet and animals that have 2!
Most foxes are crepuscular. This means they are most active at dusk and dawn. Other animals are nocturnal, which means they are active at night. Diurnal animals are active during the day. See if you can come of with a list of each category of animal. After you name some animals in each category, ask your kiddos if they can say what group humans belong to!
- Crepuscular animals: lions, bobcats, raccoons, brown bears, blackbears, pandas, jaguar, coyote, leopards, some rabbits, foxes, guinea pigs
- Nocturnal animals: bats, owls, rats, skunks, catfish, moths, earthworms
- Diurnal animals: humans, dogs, chickens, goats, cows, sheep, geese, ducks, many birds, bees
Learn about different kinds of foxes. Compare and contrast them. Red fox, Gray Fox, Fennec Fox, Arctic fox, and more.

Discipleship
Foxes have holes, birds have nests, but the Son of man has no place to lay His head. Matthew 8:20
Something to talk about: Jesus left the glories of heaven and perfect fellowship with the Father, to become like us, to dwell among us, so that he might be a faithful high priest able to sympathize with our weaknesses. Even though He is King of All, He did not live in a King’s palace; he wandered from place to place, without a home, preaching the good news of salvation to all who believe. He became poor, so that we might be made rich.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for love’s sake becamest poor;
Thrones for a manger didst surrender,
Sapphire paved courts for stable floor.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for love’s sake becamest poor.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man;
Stooping so low, but sinners raising,
Heavenward by Thine eternal plan.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Savior and King, we worship Thee.
Emmanuel, within us dwelling,
Make us what Thou wouldst have us be.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Savior and King, we worship Thee.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I pray it is a blessing for your family!
In Christ alone,
Trish
